βig-h3 (also known as TGF-β-induced protein or TGFβi) is a 68 kDa ECM protein containing a secretory signal sequence, a N-terminal cysteine-rich domain, four fasciclin 1 domains, and a RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) cell adhesive motif that was first isolated from human lung adenocarcinoma treated with TGF-β [160,161]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFBI and lung adenocarcinoma.
