SQSTM1 and neoplasm: miRNA345 silences the production of KISS1 [45], which can lead to the upregulation of proangiogenic VEGF [46], pro-invasive MMP9 [47] and SLUG [48], EMT-related E-cadherin [45], autophagy-related ATG5, LC3-II, and p62/SQSTM1 [44], to ultimately promote tumor cell adaptation and propagation in the brain.
