IL1B and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: To understand if the modulatory effect of miR-467f and miR-466q on LPS-activated N9 microglia-like cells translated to primary microglia characterized by an inflammatory signature, we transfected microglia isolated from late symptomatic SOD1G93A mice, a widely used murine model for human ALS, with miR-467f and miR-466q overnight (we used a transfection time shorter than for the transfection of the N9 cells due to the difficulty in maintaining the primary cells in culture) and analysed the expression of the representative pro-inflammatory genes, Tnf and Il1b.
