MYC and cancer: This notion is supported by our findings that a c-Myc-mutant mimicking IKKα-phosphorylation at serines 67/71 exhibits a higher rate of DNA-synthesis and lower apoptosis in presence of a cytotoxic drug, which is also in line with several studies showing pro-tumorigenic roles of IKKα in various cancers [12, 14–16, 48–52].
