Deletion of the NFKBIA gene or low expression of IκBα protein serves as a major mechanism of permanent NF‐κB activation in a non‐classical form of glioblastoma, where it is associated with poor prognosis in patients and resistance to proteasome and IKK inhibitors in clinical trials (Idbaih et al, 2011; Takeuchi & Nawashiro, 2011; Kinker et al, 2016; Raizer et al, 2016).
