ACE2 and COVID-19: Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic across the world due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2), it has been reported that angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2) receptors are the target receptors for the SARS COV-2 virus [11, 12] and the nicotine, being the major component in tobacco, it directly impacts the putative receptor of the ACE-2 enzyme making the individual vulnerable and at higher risk for the COVID 19 attack [13].
