TP53 and neoplasm: The events driving genomic instability are usually ascribed to caretaker tumor suppressor genes, such as p53 and BRCA1; in the case of p53 the original BRB4 tumor was 100% positive by immunohistochemistry (Supplementary Table S2), which is suggestive of mutations yielding dominant-negative p53 subunits; we will investigate the possible involvement of other caretaker genes, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2.
