However, previous studies have revealed that a frequent loss of chromosome 8p is firmly linked to colorectal tumorigenesis [129,130] and 8p loss and MYC gain (also in 8q) significantly co-occurred in the same samples, indicating that a frequent loss of 8p may at least to some extent be an accompanying event which is driven by the strong positive selective of MYC gain.
