ACE and hypertensive disorder: Modern clinical trials have provided evidence of the benefit of treating hypertension using optimized doses of older drugs, such as diuretics and β-blockers, and including newer medications, such as calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, or angiotensin receptor blockers,15,17,36 thus allowing us to develop this new taxonomy for standardizing antihypertension doses based on clinical benefit.
