PSS patients showed an increase in the percentage of Th17 cells (CD4+ IL17+) by 4.63% (p < 0.0001), a decline in the proportions of Treg cells (CD4+ CD25+ FoxP3+) by 6.12% (p < 0.0001), and no obvious change in the proportions of Th1 cells (CD4+ IFN-γ+) compared to NCs (Figure 2a, B). Here, IFNG is linked to peeling skin syndrome.
