Similar abnormalities in the laboratory findings of patients with COVID-19 were reported in a review of eight smaller studies: lymphopenia (35–75%); increased CRP (75–93%), LDH (27–92%), and ESR (up to 85% of cases); low concentrations of serum albumin (50–98%); elevated D-dimer (36–43%); and low hemoglobin (41–50%) [40]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is COVID-19.
