The discovery of recurrent fusions involving NRG1 in KRAS wild-type pancreatic tumors (Heining et al. 2018), as well as case reports of fusions involving BRAF, PRKACA, NTRK1/3, and RET (The Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network 2017; Drilon et al. 2018; Gao et al. 2018; Heining et al. 2018), prompted us to systematically screen for fusion genes in this cancer entity.
