The results we obtained in this work are fully consistent with those of our previous study [15]: an increase in HMGA2 expression (compared to goiters) is characteristic of PTC (p = 3.9 × 10−14), FTC (p = 4.98 × 10−6), ATC (p = 1.72 × 10−5), and, to a lesser extent, noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP, p = 0.00015), but not typical for MTC (p = 0.702) and parathyroid adenoma (PTA, p = 0.0681). Here, HMGA2 is linked to parathyroid gland adenoma.
