Consistent with several previous studies of NK cells, in comparison to HDs, a lower expression was found for several activating receptors, such as DNAM-1, NKG2D, CD16, and NKp44, which may contribute to attenuated anti-tumor response, but paradoxical increased expression was observed for NKp30, NKp46, and LFA-1 (CD11a). The gene discussed is KLRK1; the disease is neoplasm.
