In 2010, Yao et al. [44,45] reported that the inhibition of SIRT1 deacetylase suppresses estrogen receptor (ER) signaling, and additionally that the inhibition of estrogen signaling activates the NRF2 (nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2, NF-E2-related factor 2) pathway in breast cancer. Here, NFE2L2 is linked to breast cancer.
