In a whole gene chip analysis of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, we found modulation of transcripts as well as changes in the expression of a set of genes not previously correlated with bone metabolism, of which the CLCF1 gene was the most downregulated [12]. This evidence concerns the gene CLCF1 and postmenopausal osteoporosis.
