To determine the cause of high ALKBH5 expression in UM cells, we analyzed melanoma data from the UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Site (http://genome.ucsc.edu) and found high enrichment and overlap of H3K27ac peaks at the promoter region of ALKBH5 in melanoma (Figure 2A), which suggests that ALKBH5 may be regulated by chromatin acetylation. This evidence concerns the gene ALKBH5 and melanoma.
