Because (1) the mitochondrion was one of the important therapeutic targets of kidney disease, (2) several target genes for the Distal + Henle cluster were mitochondrial genes, and (3) little was known about the nephrogenesis-related roles of Ngf, one of the ligands that was inferred to regulate the differentiation of the Distal + Henle cluster, the effects of NGF were analyzed. This evidence concerns the gene NGF and kidney disorder.
