In particular, it has been reported that PKCι is often mislocalised to the cytoplasm and the nucleus of the transformed cancer cells [47,48,49,50], but fascinatingly, despite the loss of its restricted localisation within the membrane, PKCι seems to remain in complex with PAR-6 in tumour cells [51,52,53], indicating that this association, along with the PKCι activity, is somehow important for the maintenance of the cancer cell phenotypes [51,54,55,56]. This evidence concerns the gene PARD6A and neoplasm.
