In this study, suppression of cellular antioxidant molecules, such as SOD, CAT, GPx, GST, and GSH in the renal tissue of T2D rats and HG-exposed renal cells hampered the scavenging/neutralizing capacity of these oxidative free radicals resulting in an excess of oxidative free radicals to impart oxidative damage. Here, CAT is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
