TP53 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: It has been found that novel chalcones, (E)-1-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3-propylphenyl)-3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one and (E)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3-propylphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one, which contain various hydroxy and carboxy groups, can induce normal p53 to function by inhibiting p53-MDM2 interaction leading to human non-small-cell lung cancer NCI-H460 cell apoptosis [53].
