Fukuda et al. [15] showed that, compared with controls, serum adiponectin levels decreased (4.3 ± 1.8 vs 6.7 ± 1.8 g/ml, P < 0.001) in acromegaly patients, but another study by Ronchi et al. showed no serum adiponectin levels change was observed in acromegaly patients [16]. This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and acromegaly.
