As another mechanism to support CTCs survival, platelets secrete lysophophatidic acid (LPA) that binds to its receptors, LPAR1, 2 and (3) on breast cancer cells and activates the secretion of IL6, IL8, CCL2 and CXCL1, enhance survival and increases the migration potential of CTCs (131). The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
