Additionally, suppression of mTOR by treatment with rapamycin (specific inhibitor of mTOR) also markedly attenuated MIEF2 overexpression-increased lipid content in ovarian cancer cells, as evidenced by elevated intracellular levels of free fatty acid, triglyceride, phospholipids, cholesterol and enhanced BODIPY staining of neutral lipids in OC cells (Supplementary Fig. S5a–e). Here, MTOR is linked to ovarian cancer.
