In another report, Rah et al. have demonstrated that extracellular Par‐4, secreted by a classical BFA-sensitive pathway, inhibits invasion and angiogenesis in human cervical cancer and prostate cancer cells via negatively regulating matrix metalloproteinases-2 (MMP‐2), an endopeptidase responsible for the proteolytic degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) components105. The gene discussed is MMP2; the disease is prostate cancer.
