CDH1 and cancer: The downregulated genes (adjusted p-value ≤ 0.05) showed a strong enrichment for cancer-related gene signatures from mSigDB [22], most notably E-cadherin (CDH1) targets (hypergeometric test p-value 3.7E−41), the loss of which is a generalized hallmark of metastatic cells that have undergone epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
