Similar to pan-PI3K inhibitor, administration of an AKT inhibitor to PTEN-deficient BC cell lines exerted a suppressive effect on PD-L1 expression that could be upregulated by the activation of PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway, reversing the immunosuppression elicited by PD-L1 [111].
