In LNCaP and DU145 cells, the tRF-315 inhibitor induced phosphorylation of eIF2α (1.6 ± 0.1-fold increase in LNCaP cells and 1.7 ± 0.1-fold increase in DU145 cells at 40 nM), suggesting that inhibition of tRF-315 in itself can lead to cellular stress, which leads to activation of the apoptotic pathway in prostate cancer cells (Figure 4F). Here, EIF2A is linked to prostate carcinoma.
