The average testosterone serum level was 0.03 ng/ml in the study group, i.e., below the castration level, even though the majority of these patients had poor oncologic features: Gleason scores were 8 for 6 patients, median pre-therapeutic PSA level was 46.7 ng/ml, 8 of these patients (80%) had bone metastasis, and the median value of nadir PSA was < 1 ng/ml. The gene discussed is KLK3; the disease is bone metastasis.
