A nested case-control study in the Swedish EIRA cohort, analyzed data of 1721 patients with incident RA and 3667 controls and found that a Mediterranean diet was inversely associated with the risk of RA, particularly among men (OR 0.49, 95% 0.33–0.73) and with RF and ACPA positivity (OR 0.69, 95% CI 0.54–0.88 and 0.72, 95% IC 0.57–0.92, respectively) [23]. Here, PRTN3 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
