BCL2L10 and melanoma: Since BCL2L10 (our results above), BCL2 [42,43], Bcl-xL [44], and MCL1 [45] have all been implicated in cisplatin resistance in melanoma and the partial protection to cisplatin provided by BCL2L10 was much greater in the presence of ABT-737 (34.7% vs. 13.7%, Figure 5H) than in its absence (27.6% vs. 19.7%, Figure 5B), it can be concluded that, at least in regard to cisplatin resistance, BCL2L10 can take over functions of the ABT-737 targets when they are inhibited by this drug.
