A recent study indicates that scoparone could improve hepatic autophagy and inflammation in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis mice through the regulation of the ROS/p38/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) axis and PI3K/AKT/mTOR cascade in macrophages (Liu et al., 2020a). The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
