CYP1A1 and atopic eczema: Increased CYP1A1 has been detected in the inflamed skin of patients with atopic dermatitis (Hidaka et al., 2017) and in the PBMCs of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (Shinde et al., 2018), suggesting that upregulation of the pathway during inflammation and autoimmunity may occur in an attempt to restrict immunopathology.
