CRHR2 and Anxiety: It is generally believed that CRF/CRFR1 signaling promotes stress responses and anxiety-like behavior, whereas Ucns/CRFR2 mediates stress recovery and the restoration of homeostasis; however, recent studies reveal that this view is overly simplistic and CRFRs signaling are brain-region- and cell-type-specific (Henckens et al., 2016).
