We believe that the research on Osx and osteolytic diseases in the future will mainly focus on the following aspects: (1) The interaction between bone formation-related protein and Osx during osteogenic differentiation as well as their underlying molecular mechanisms remains to be further studied; (2) The new molecular mechanism of Osx regulated by miRNAs and lncRNAs remains to be explored, which may provide a potential target for the treatment of osteoporosis;(3) More effective and safer Osx-targeted drugs are needed to be further developed for the treatment of osteolytic diseases. Here, SP7 is linked to osteoporosis.
