The inhibitory molecules that regulate TL functions (and notably the PD-1/PD-L1 axis) are generally overexpressed in tumor cells or in the microenvironment cells such as Tumor-infiltrating Lymphocytes (TIL) and Tregs in melanoma, breast, prostate, ovary, hepatocellular carcinoma and small cell lung carcinoma (65, 73). The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
