Wang et al. showed that fibroblast growth factor 20 (FGF20) is one target of miR-433, that polymorphism in the miR-433 binding site of FGF20 conferred risk for Parkinson’s disease, and that the expression of FGF20 is associated with α-synuclein that forms aggregates in Parkinson’s disease (Wang et al., 2008). The gene discussed is FGF20; the disease is Parkinson disease.
