IRAK1 and atherosclerosis: Previous studies have indicated that miR-146a might be involved in the development of inflammation-related atherosclerosis through the regulation of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK-1), tumor necrosis factor receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF-6), Toll-like receptor, cytokine signaling pathway, nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) pathway, MAP kinase pathway, and TNF-α expression, thus contributing to the pathogenesis of IS [19,20].
