Quercetin confers both antioxidant and anticancer properties that prevent the proliferation of prostate cancer cells by increasing the levels of p21, Bax and caspase-3, and thus preventing the expression of the cell cycle regulator cdc2/cdk-1, cyclin B1, phosphorylated pRB and apoptosis markers Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL [244]. Here, CDK1 is linked to prostate carcinoma.
