There were higher numbers of potential IL-4-inducing peptides, averaging 7.20 ± 0.748 segments (n = 20), in this VP2 tip region of allergic BTVs, compared to the 2.60 ± 0.800 segments (n = 15) (p < 0.01) recorded for BTVs without allergy records (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and allergic disease.
