WNK3 and infection: NAC TFs can be induced upon infection by different pathogens, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, and interact with phytohormones, such as SA, ABA, JA, and ET, to either activate downstream defense genes, such as the PRs to endow resistance against pathogens as positive regulators, or to cause serious susceptibility to pathogens, as negative regulators (see Figure 3).
