In a subsequent study [28], Saraswati Sukumar’s group proposed TMEFF2 methylation as a biomarker for the diagnosis of breast cancer in patients’ serum; TMEFF2 was found to be among the top 10 out of 2674 genes differentially hypermethylated in the serum of breast cancer patients when compared to the sera from the healthy individuals. This evidence concerns the gene TMEFF2 and breast carcinoma.
