The LPP gene for lipomas is located on chromosomes 3q27-q28 and is characterized by the continuous rearrangement of chromosomal fragments of high mobility group gene alleles at 12q15.[43] LPP is localized to focal adhesions (FAs),[44] and its N-terminal domain, which interacts with α-actin[45] and Ena/VASP,[46] is related to the actin cytoskeleton.
