The Nottingham grade when combined with the tumour receptor status (e.g. progesterone receptor) and other pathologic parameters (e.g. tumour size) has been shown to predict molecular testing, such as “OncotypeDx” [20–22]; thus, if grading is done with a higher level of reproducibility within a controlled process, it can corroborate other (cost-intensive) tests and may allow more effective resource use with a higher level of quality.
