PCDH17 methylation occurred in prostate cancer and was associated with higher pathological Gleason score, advanced pathological stage, higher level of preoperative PSA, positive angiolymphatic invasion, positive lymph node metastasis, and BCR. In addition, methylation was an independent predictor of poor BCR-free survival and overall survival for patients with prostate cancer. The gene discussed is PCDH17; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
