Hydroxy fatty acids such as 9- and 13-HODE were found increased significance in psoriasis skin lesions and were produced by the metabolism of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids by lipoxygenase (LOX) 5-LOX, 12-LOX, and 15-LOX (Sorokin et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene ALOX5 and psoriasis.
