HTR2A and Hepatic steatosis: A recent study, however, demonstrated that hepatic expression of the 5-HT2a receptor (htr2a), but not htr2b, is increased in obese mice fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks [5], and either genetic ablation of liver-specific htr2a or treatment with a selective ht2a antagonist suppresses hepatic steatosis in mice fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks.
