Because EGFR-TKIs, including first-generation gefitinib, erlotinib, and icotinib, second-generation afatinib and dacomitinib, and third-generation osimertinib, have demonstrated higher objective response rates (ORR) and prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) compared to standard chemotherapy (4–7), they have become the first choice for patients with advanced EGFR-mutated NSCLC. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
