In c-MYC-induced lymphoma cell lines, downregulation of miR-26a has been reported to come along with cMYC-induced EZH2 expression, a histone methyltransferase member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family of epigenetic gene silencers implicated in neoplastic development (Sander et al., 2008). The gene discussed is PRDM9; the disease is lymphoma.
