Recent studies demonstrated that tumor-derived exosomes could function as transmitters of drug resistance in different malignancies.12,13 Moreover, a recent study showed that exon-derived circRNAs were stably enriched in exosomes,14 and adipose exosomes carrying circRNAs were found to promote the growth of HCC by targeting USP7.40 In line with these findings, here we found that circRNA-SORE is enriched and transmitted by exosomes, enabling the spread of sorafenib resistance among HCC cells. The gene discussed is USP7; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
